Cartographer 3D Probe v4 is a high-precision eddy current displacement sensor for 3D printers, specifically designed for Klipper-based systems. Its new all-in-one design ensures easier installation, improved thermal and electrical stability, and enhanced measurement accuracy.
One of the key advantages of the V4 version is the ability to switch between CAN and USB modes via firmware, with no soldering required. The faster, high-temperature-rated MCU, redesigned coil, and improved cabling provide reliable operation even in demanding environments. The built-in ADXL345 accelerometer, positioned close to the nozzle, enables more accurate input shaping compared to motor-mounted alternatives.
It is an ideal choice for modern, CAN/USB-based toolheads where clean wiring and precise probing are essential.
New probes come with USB firmware pre-installed. Using the included long USB cable, you can connect it directly to the Raspberry Pi. If you want to connect it to a toolhead board, you can use the included shorter cable, which allows each pin to be connected individually. With the crimp connector included in the package, you can also make your own custom cable. If you prefer not to do any DIY work, you can scroll down to select a ready-made toolhead cable instead.
